In case you couldnt tell from the big countdown on the home page, the Crash Landing pilot releases tomorrow!

Crazy, right?

But...

We JUST talked about only being 50% done, so what's the deal?

Well...

We are no longer completing the pilot.

This was talked about briefly on the first of this month, but I feel more context is needed.

Crash Landing has been quite an ambitious project, and it was most likely a mistake to make this pilot so soon, even though Crash Landing has been in development since 2024.

Full disclosure: I did not put much thought into the script back when it was written. I quickly learned this after having to scrap a whole scene and getting feedback from friends.

Consider this a sort of apology for the possible lack of quality in this pilot.

Please do not blame anyone else attached to the project, as every decision regarding the writing, "cancellation," etc. it was fully my choice to pull the plug early.

I have multiple valid reasons for doing so.

The main problem we were facing was funding.

It was becoming less possible to pay the team fairly. Luckily, the team was understanding of the situation and very lenient.

This project was funded mostly on an allowance. Which was not a whole lot of money.

I considered getting a job to help finish the pilot, but my personal life has been so hectic lately that it would add to the stress, along with the fact that I'm in the middle of moving to a whole different state.

The other problem was motivation.

This pilot stopped being fun to work on months ago and was feeling more like a chore, which is ironic, considering I'm just the director! (Directing is very stressful, in my defense)

And on top of that, I was not very proud of what I'd written as the introduction to the world I wanted to create. There is a lot of missed potential in the pilot, which makes me regret writing it so quickly and quite carelessly.

So I was not getting much enjoyment out of creating something as I hoped I would.

I have been practicing writing, and if any more crash landing gets made, i will be including more writers and maybe even more directors.

All this is to say, please watch this pilot, not for me, but for all the hardworking individuals who brought my world to life, even if I didn't do the best at introducing it.
